ABOUT

Chris Dela Cruz – Writer | Filmmaker | Storyteller

Chris is a writer and filmmaker, a proud member of the WGA (August 2024), and a visual storyteller whose work captures the raw intensity of human resilience. His expertise in narrative storytelling is deeply informed by firsthand experiences documenting global conflict zones, providing an unfiltered lens into survival, sacrifice, and hope.

His feature-length documentary Tiny Hearts takes audiences into the heart of war-torn regions, following world-renowned pediatric heart surgeon Dr. William Novick as he operates on children in dire circumstances. Filmed over five years in places like Ukraine during the Russian invasion, as well as Iraq, Benghazi, Lebanon, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, the film is a visceral, character-driven study of courage under fire.

Chris's storytelling foundation is uniquely layered. Before venturing into war zones, he toured with Bruno Mars, documenting the behind-the-scenes world of music’s biggest acts. As a pioneer on YouTube, he created one of the platform’s first partnered channels, generating over a billion views, and honed an unparalleled understanding of audience engagement, visual pacing, and emotional impact. With nearly two decades of experience as a video producer and editor, he possesses a rare ability to balance high-impact storytelling with cinematic finesse.

Currently, Chris is collaborating with 8-time Grammy Award-winning writer and television producer Philip Lawrence developing projects that illuminate untold stories with depth and authenticity. His work continues to push the boundaries of visual storytelling, offering a profound exploration of human endurance in the face of extraordinary circumstances.
